Do your part!
A quote from Chrissy Hynde to motivate you:
“One person can make all the difference in the world. For the first time in recorded human history, we have the fate of the whole planet in our hands.”
We all must do our part to save this planet!
Please partake in at least four different, new activities that are eco-friendly and post how they have changed your lifestyle for the better and how they have helped out the planet!

Get the ball rolling...
Hi all!
Hope you have read my email about the first project assignment. If you didn't read that yet, please do so now or if you haven't received it, let me know. I have offered some options for activities to get the ball rolling:

Hope you have read my email about the first project assignment. If you didn't read that yet, please do so now or if you haven't received it, let me know. I have offered some options for activities to get the ball rolling:
- Conserve water by:
- cutting down the time you spend in the shower
- watering plants less
- do laundry less
- use a water filter
- Recycle
- bottles and cans
- old electronics
- anything that can be recycled and put to good use!
- purchase recycled products
- Use reusable bags when shopping at a grocery store
- Volunteer for environmentally-friendly organizations (beach clean-ups, etc.)
- Plant a tree :-)
- Grow your own veggies and fruits
- Eat organic food
- Carpool, ride bike, use public transportation, and/or walk
- Conserve electricity
"Lead others to change their lifestyle to be more environmentally friendly. My purpose is to increase awareness of recycling and promote an eco-friendly lifestyle by encouraging others to practice eco-friendly activities in their everyday lives and dump their un-eco-friendly habits."
Remember the first journal entry is due on Sunday, by email and don't forget to encourage two others to participate and include their testimonies in your entry. Let me know of any questions/concerns.Thank you all for the support! Stay green! :-)
Sincerely,
Mayanne
First project assignment
Hi Everyone!
Thank you very much for participating, I really appreciate it. Over the course of the next few weeks, I would like you to do at least four different, eco-friendly, ongoing activities (and by different, I mean something that you don’t already do). For example, if you use water bottles everyday then start to use a reusable water bottle or purchase recycled products that you can use in your everyday lives. There are many resources out there that you can use. You don’t necessarily have to purchase anything, you can just change some habits, like taking the bus/carpooling/riding your bike to school/work instead of driving (if it’s close enough), or recycling your bottles and cans instead of just throwing them in a regular trash can. I have added a number of websites that offer efficient ways to lead an eco-friendly life, but you don’t necessarily have to follow these. Be creative! The opportunities are boundless!
Once you have chosen at least four eco-friendly activities that you are going to pursue within the next three weeks (and hopefully, for longer than that), I would like you to keep a simple journal of these activities, stating what you are doing and how it has helped you lead a more eco-friendly life. I would also like you to encourage at least two others to do the same. I would like for you to report to me weekly, by email, with the first journal entry(ies)due on Sunday, 9/26 and every Sunday (or any day before that) with the last entry due 10/17. I am trying to get an online blog started so that you can upload your entries on there, I’ll let you know how that goes.
Although you are helping me out a ton by doing this, keep in mind that ultimately I am trying to get you to change your lifestyle and realize how easy it can be to help out the environment by doing simple things in your everyday life. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Again, thank you very much for doing this and I look forward to reading about your activities! Oh and Mother Earth would like to thank you too! ;-)

Lead an eco-friendly life-style
Hi Everyone,
As some of you may know, I am majoring in Global Business Management (Entrepreneurship emphasis). I am taking a Global Leadership class this semester and I am doing a project in which I have to use my leadership skills. This project requires me to work with others to fulfill a certain goal, which is why I have come to you! I would really appreciate it if you can help me do this project. I completely understand that we all have busy lives but I promise you that this will not take up a big chunk of your time and it will benefit you and others around you as well. I have less than three weeks to accomplish this goal so it will be a short-term project, however, the effects are long-term. Here is my proposition:
My goal is to increase awareness of recycling and promote an eco-friendly lifestyle by getting others to practice eco-friendly activities in their everyday lives. The people that I work with will have to change their lifestyle in at least four different ways (ex. Use a Brita filter instead of purchasing water bottles, recycle bottles and cans, ride their bike to school, etc.). They will also have to encourage at least two other people to do the same and record their progress. I understand that most of you are pretty eco-friendly, (if you weren’t, I probably wouldn’t be your friend haha), but I’m encouraging you to go above and beyond what you already do in order to better the environment and your lives! This project is a test of my leadership skills, so I will have to check up with you every-so-often and my professor will need your email addresses so that he can ask you about my leadership skills. Although this project will only last about three weeks, my ultimate goal is to get you and others around you to change your lifestyle to be more eco-friendly! We have been abusing our Earth for so long now and if we all do our part, we will all benefit! As Gandhi once said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.”
I really appreciate your time and I understand if you cannot fit this into your busy schedule. However, if you are interested in helping me, then please contact me A.S.A.P. (preferably by Sunday night because I need to report back to my professor on Monday). If you are interested, I will be emailing you shortly with more information on this project. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me. Thanks again!
Mayanne
